22°Time for the BIG one, a hike from Pico Arieiro to Pico Ruivo. The two highest peaks in Madeira and a tough hike of about 20km and lots of climbing..
The hike started out fine with mostly climbing down and beautiful vistas of the surrounding mountains!
But it quickly became a real challenge for me, the climbing is pretty tough and the peak is pretty high..
After reaching the top of Pico Ruivo we had to walk back to the peak of Pico Arieiro and boy did it get hard to do.. I became drained climbing back up Pico Arieiro..
I did it! It was so tough and I was completely broken.. but we made it! Time to head back to the hotel and relax..
Time for some food, our final dinner in Madeira before heading back to the airport tomorrow..
That was our short but busy stay on Madeira. Tomorrow in the early morning we head back to the airport..
