Today it was time for the long awaited trip to Alcatraz Island and of course the Golden Gate Bridge. We booked an Early Bird trip to the island for the best photo opportunities and beautiful views and morning skies. We we're not disappointed!

Our first look at the famous Alcatraz Island. It's a tiny island just 1.5 miles from San Francisco.
The featured audio-tour was really great in explaining the history and life stories of the prisoners.
Alcatraz was amazing to visit and experience. Next up we hunted down a Fish & Chips shop on Pier 39. On the way back to shore we saw a Solar Halo, very cool!
Time to rent some bikes and cross the Golden Gate Bridge!
After a nice Surf-n-Turf it was time to head back to our Motel in Oakland.
Tomorrow we pick up our car and drive towards Lake Tahoe. Let the road trip begin!
