30°Time to explore the large fresh water lake of Bacalar starting with Los Rapidos. This narrow part of the lake is famous for its natural current and mangroves.
The water is very clear, perfect for snorkeling and the current is a nice bonus!
Time to get something to eat and to check out the lake properly. Lake Bacalar is known for having crystal clear 7-color 'blue' water with beautiful white sand on the bottom.
You can walk for about 100 metres before needing to swim. The water is a nice temperature of around 28 degrees.
Time to relax a bit at the hotel and tend to our sunburns before heading out and grabbing a bite to eat.
Tomorrow is a travel day to Palenque with an overnight pit stop in the nondescript town of Escárcega..
