Today we explored the ancient city of Kyoto with it's narrow streets, old wooden buildings and more temples and shrines than you can imagine. We decided to wander the little streets and check out the picturesque Konchi-In temple and of course the Kamo river. It was a bright hot day, great for making some nice photos!
Day 36
Konchi-in Temple, Kamo River, Gion, Pontocho, Kamishichiken and Hokanji Pagoda
Walking distance of 19.2 kilometres including 68 floors
We tried to avoid the most touristy of temples and sights. We seen most of them a couple years back..
After getting some lunch at the local 7-Eleven we wandered trough the little streets of Gion, Pontocho and Kamishichiken which are known for having narrow streets and a lot of bars, restaurants and tea houses with geisha entertainment. We also checked out the Hokanji Pagoda and surrounding park.
Time to get some Conveyor Belt Sushi!
Awesome, Efficient and Delicous!
Tomorrow we still have some hours in the beautiful city of Kyoto before travelling to Osaka!
