These Mayan ruins were hidden in the dense jungle for about a 1000 years. After rediscovery, a small part of this once major city was restored, indicating its grandeur.
The city was build on a mountain hill side: climbing some of the temples therefore provides an amazing view over the valley.
After a 2.5 hour drive, we arrived in the busy streets of Villahermosa. Time to relax for the long travel day ahead.
We got some American BBQ because we can in a city this size..
Tomorrow we have a long drive of around 5 hours to San Cristóbal de las Casas..
