Day 7

After a night with heavy thunderstorms we treated ourselves with a lovely breakfast before heading out of Bacalar.

On the way to Escárcega we stopped for a homemade sandwich lunch in a typical inland little town called Xpujil.

During the last leg of the trip we encountered some heavy rain forcing us to drive slow and in a column..

Finally arrived at our midway point to Palenque called Escárcega where we will spend the night. Time for a Corona!

Time to get something to eat and relax before traveling onwards tomorrow.

Tomorrow it's back in the car to Palenque!
