The fact that you are allowed to climb the main pyramid sets these ruins apart. Climbing to the top gives a beatiful bird's-eye view of the surrounding jungle.
After lunch we decided to cool down in a nearby Cenote. This underground cave, only reachable by a small staircase, is filled with cold fresh water making it perfect for some swimming and snorkeling.
After relaxing a bit by the pool we went in search of a nice Alambre dinner!
Tomorrow we will continue our road trip to Bacalar located on the large fresh water lake called Laguna Bacalar. Should be a nice 2.5 hour drive..
