Along the way to our next hotel, we visited Trogir and Split today. Trogir is a very touristic town of whom the old town is located on an island. The narrow alleyways and historic buildings are highly characteristic of this cute town.
Next stop: Split. Compared to Trogir, a large city, but also located at the Adriatic Sea. Like Trogir, the town was filled with tourists exploring the main sights of the city, including a 3500 year old Egyptian Sphinx hanging out in the old town.
The main sight in Split is Diocletian's Palace. It is built for the Roman emperor Diocletian in the fourth century AD and covers around half of the old town of Split.
Time to head to our next hotel in Makarska!
After a busy day today, we will take a break from sightseeing tomorrow morning. In the afternoon, we will explore the town Makarska.
